Corporate Event Planner
Contract with extension or conversion possible
Rate: $35/hr.
You will provide support to a team of event planners and perform duties such as but not limited to:
- Assisting Team in meeting department goals and event activities
- Sourcing hotel properties, restaurants, or vendors to perform services
- Coordinate BEOs, hotel room list, audio visual orders, official meeting announcement(s)
- Maintain records and generate reports
- Assist in organizing meetings and other events as assigned
- Assist in managing customer inquiries, troubleshooting registration and PDU requests.
- Administer Procurement details related to contracting and payments
- Meeting deadlines is a must!
- The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and must have independent decision-making experience that ensure actions align with revenue/budget goals and overall program targets.
- Strong ability to manage large volume of work and support multiple colleagues at the same time.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- 4-7 years’ experience working in an event planner role with interest in expanding career in event planning.
- Demonstrated success in supporting multiple team members and various tasks
- Able to think critically about the attendee journey at events and apply creative solutions appropriately.
- Strong interest in building relationships both internally and externally. This role includes interacting with customers and providing quality customer service and care.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft suite (outlook, PowerPoint and excel). This role includes the use of databases/systems. Patience in troubleshooting and finding solutions is desired.
- Must have ability to execute detailed plans, collect and interpret data, and prepare concise summaries
- Potential travel, domestically, including weekends and holidays. Approximately 25% travel anticipated.
